A growing renewable energy construction business is seeking an experienced PV Foreman to support the delivery of commercial solar projects across Hawaii. This is a field-based leadership role responsible for coordinating crews, supporting construction execution, and helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

The PV Foreman will work closely with the Superintendent and Project Managers to support day-to-day project delivery, field coordination, scheduling, reporting, and customer communication. This role is central to maintaining a strong culture of safety, efficiency, and accountability across all active job sites.

Role Overview

The PV Foreman will oversee field operations for assigned commercial photovoltaic projects and will be responsible for coordinating electrical apprentices, mechanical installers, and subcontractors. In addition to leading site execution, this individual will support critical project controls activities such as scheduling, timesheet validation, weekly reporting, and client interaction where required.

This position is well suited to someone with strong commercial solar field experience who can lead crews effectively, communicate professionally, and keep projects moving toward completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage construction crews including electrical apprentices, mechanical installers, and subcontractors.

  • Work with the Superintendent and Project Managers to allocate personnel to upcoming projects and assess staffing needs.

  • Read and interpret project plans and develop an execution strategy for assigned work.

  • Prepare parts and equipment lists and support project implementation planning.

  • Execute project work in line with contract obligations and company standards.

  • Support the Project Manager with change orders where needed.

  • Maintain project quality at or above required standards.

  • Organise, schedule, and lead field meetings with apprentices, crews, and subcontractors.

  • Interview, train, mentor, evaluate, and develop new and existing field staff.

  • Work with the Project Manager and Superintendent to develop project action plans.

  • Assist with weekly reports, scheduling, timesheet validation, and customer communication as needed.

  • Carry out additional duties required to support successful project completion.

Candidate Profile

  • Relevant electrical journey-level or equivalent construction experience preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of construction-related experience, including at least 3 years in commercial PV solar.

  • State electrical certification required.

  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and sequencing.

  • In-depth knowledge of commercial PV installations and wiring configurations.

  • Working knowledge of commercial electrical systems.

  • Understanding of labour laws and compliance processes.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to support budgets and schedules.

  • Strong customer service skills and a professional approach.

  • Valid state driver’s licence and clean driving record.

  • Ability to pass pre-employment background, driving, and drug screening as required.
