Senior Project Manager - C&I New York State

Climate17 is proud to partner with an established solar developer and EPC delivering projects across New York State. As the business continues to grow its project portfolio, it is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to take ownership of complex solar projects from construction through commissioning and closeout. This is an opportunity for a senior-level project professional to have significant responsibility for project delivery, commercial performance and client relationships while working closely with construction and site teams.

Location: Rochester, NY / Northeast US
Travel: Regular travel to Rochester required

Your Opportunity

As Senior Project Manager, you will take senior-level ownership of solar projects, overseeing budgets, schedules, forecasting, P&L performance, client relationships and overall project execution. You will work closely with construction leadership, Superintendents, engineering, procurement and site teams to ensure successful delivery. The role is suited to an experienced solar PM who is comfortable managing complex projects, navigating commercial challenges and taking accountability for project performance from construction through commissioning and final handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of assigned solar projects from construction through commissioning and closeout
• Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasting and P&L performance, ensuring projects remain commercially and operationally on track
• Manage client relationships and commercial matters, including contracts, change orders, claims and project risks
• Coordinate closely with construction, engineering, procurement, QA/QC, safety, subcontractors and site teams
• Establish and maintain effective project delivery processes, identifying risks and implementing mitigation or recovery strategies where required
• Monitor project progress and performance, providing clear reporting and senior-level communication to internal and external stakeholders
• Oversee successful project completion, commissioning, Permission to Operate and final handover while ensuring commercial and contractual obligations are met

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or a related discipline required
• 6+ years of progressive project management experience, ideally within solar or renewable energy construction
• Proven experience managing utility-scale or large-scale solar construction projects from development through completion
• Strong understanding of solar project delivery, including construction, procurement, subcontractor management, commissioning and project closeout
• Demonstrable experience managing project budgets, forecasting and P&L performance
• Strong client-facing, commercial and contract management experience with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
• BESS experience is advantageous, alongside a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget
