Climate17 is proud to partner with a growing renewable energy developer focused on the development, ownership and operation of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the US. The business has an expanding project pipeline and is continuing to build its land and development capabilities in Texas. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team in San Antonio and play a hands-on role in identifying and engaging landowners at the early stages of project development.

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Travel: Occasional travel as required

Your Opportunity

As a Land Outreach Associate, you will support the early stages of land acquisition by identifying prospective landowners, researching properties and initiating conversations about potential project opportunities. You will spend much of your time researching ownership information, making outbound calls and qualifying potential leads before passing them to the wider Land Engagement team. This is a hands-on role for someone who is driven, positive and enjoys taking initiative. Renewable energy experience is not essential - relevant oil and gas land experience is also welcomed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research prospective project areas to identify landowners and gather property and ownership information.

  • Conduct outbound calls and direct outreach to landowners to introduce potential project opportunities.

  • Research individual landowners and properties to build detailed profiles for the Land Engagement team.

  • Identify and qualify potential land opportunities, including ownership, acreage and relevant property information.

  • Maintain accurate records of landowner contacts, outreach activity and follow-up actions.

  • Pass qualified leads and relevant research to the Land Engagement team to support ongoing discussions.

  • Conduct ongoing market and landowner research to identify new opportunities across the project pipeline.

  • Follow up consistently with prospective landowners and maintain organised records of communications and next steps.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Energy, Geography, Communications or a related field preferred.

  • 1-2 years of experience in land outreach, land acquisition, oil and gas, renewable energy, real estate, business development or a related field.

  • Experience in ERCOT or familiarity with Texas land markets preferred, but not essential.

  • Strong research skills with the ability to identify landowners and gather accurate property and ownership information.

  • Confident making outbound calls and comfortable building rapport with landowners and other external stakeholders.

  • Driven, proactive and positive, with the energy and resilience to make cold calls, follow up consistently and pursue new opportunities.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
