This position plays a central role in evaluating, structuring, and supporting financing for large-scale commercial and industrial (C&I) solar and battery storage projects across the U.S. The analyst will collaborate with internal teams and outside investors to build models, assess project economics, and prepare materials that enable efficient decision-making from initial screening through closing.

The Role
Financial Analysis, Valuation, Underwriting & Structuring
- Develop, refine, and manage det9ailed financial models (P&L, DSCR, IRR and MOIC) that support investment decisions, including sensitivity testing and probability-based forecasts.
- Analyze various capital stack configurations, incorporating equity, debt, and tax credit transfers under the Inflation Reduction Act.
- Model regional and market-dependent scenarios, such as merchant exposure, ISO market participation, or customer-sited savings opportunities.
- Produce concise investment materials that summarize project risk/return and recommended paths forward.
- Organize and oversee full diligence tracks across technical, commercial, environmental, and legal workstreams.
- Review key project agreements including LOIs, EPC, O&M, interconnection, leases/host agreements for compliance and bankability standards.
- Maintain orderly document control and data rooms, ensuring accuracy and responsiveness during investor and lender review.
- Benchmark returns, valuations, and structures against comparable market transactions to inform investor positioning.
- Prepare equity and credit transfer models and packages detailing expected returns, funding structures, and sensitivities.
- Track pipeline status, deal progression, and timing metrics to support portfolio-level reporting.
- Contribute to standardized modeling tools, diligence templates, and closing processes that enhance team efficiency.
- Establish baseline metrics for operational performance and ensure comprehensive transition to asset management teams.
- Accuracy of modeled outcomes versus realized project results.
- Volume and quality of transactions advanced to investment committee or financial close.
- Optimized cost of capital through structure and credit transfer improvements.
- Quality of investor-facing materials and completeness of supporting documentation.
- Partner and stakeholder satisfaction with communication and execution quality.
- 36 years of experience in project finance, private equity, infrastructure investment, or energy-sector financial analysis.
- Advanced modeling capabilities in Excel or Google Sheets, including full project finance modeling, scenario analysis, and sensitivity management.
- Working knowledge of renewable energy incentives, credit transfer structures, and standard financing metrics (LTV, DSCR, IRR).
- Strong written communication and presentation skills; ability to craft clear, investor-ready memos and pitch decks.
- Familiarity with CRM and workflow tools (Salesforce, Affinity, HubSpot).
- Preferred: exposure to merchant risk markets (e.g., ERCOT), Python-based model automation, or institutional investor diligence processes.
