Role
Climate17 are exclusively representing a full lifecycle, international utility-scale renewables developer and EPC contractor who have built c.500MW of solar farms across the UK who also have a significant pipeline of over 1GW of consented co-located PV & BESS projects
They are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to support the construction of utility-scale solar farms & co-located BESS across the North of England.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate day-to-day construction activities across utility-scale solar PV projects, taking a lead role in supervising civil and mechanical works, including site establishment, access roads, drainage, groundworks, piling, mounting structures etc.
- Coordinate subcontractors, supervisors, installation teams, plant and resources
- Ensure subcontractors deliver works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, RAMS, ITPs and project quality requirements.
- Monitor construction progress against programme, identifying potential delays, constraints or resource issues and working with the wider project team to resolve them.
- Carry out site inspections, ensuring installation quality meets the required standards.
- Coordinate deliveries, materials, plant, laydown areas and general site logistics to maintain efficient construction activity.
- Work closely with electrical, engineering, project management and quality teams to ensure civil, mechanical and electrical activities are properly coordinated.
- Maintain accurate site records, progress updates, quality documentation and daily reporting.
- Chair or contribute to daily coordination meetings, subcontractor meetings, toolbox talks etc.
- Support testing, commissioning, project completion and handover activities where required.
- Promote high standards of HSE performance and site housekeeping throughout the project.
- Ensure construction activities are undertaken in accordance with company procedures, project requirements and applicable UK health and safety legislation.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Manager, Construction Manager or Senior Site Supervisor delivering utility-scale solar PV projects.
- Strong experience managing the civil and mechanical elements of solar farm construction.
- Proven experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and installation teams
- A strong understanding of construction quality, including inspections, ITPs, snagging, NCRs and ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to manage subcontractors
- A good understanding of UK construction health and safety requirements and CDM.

Location: North of England + site-based travel
