SHEQ Advisor

North West England
North West
England

Permanent

£35000 - £45000 per annum, Benefits: Plus Car Allowance

Climate17 is delighted to be working with a leading North West based contractor as they look to recruit two SHEQ Advisors to join the business. One of the Advisors will be Manchester based with occasional travel to the Yorkshire region, and the other Advisor will be based primarily in the Yorkshire region and will travel to Manchester from time to time, if required.

This is an excellent opportunity for two ambitious SHEQ Advisors to work on a range of projects including large infrastructure, highways and utilities and join an established business of engineers and construction professionals.

You will be technically competent in all three management systems - ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 - and you will be responsible for delivering toolbox talks, assisting with risk assessments and providing SHEQ input into tender submissions. You will also liaise with regulatory bodies such as the HSE, Environment Agency and Local Authorities and you’ll be engaging with people of all levels within the business, so your ability to and adapt your approach and language depending on who you’re speaking to is important. You will therefore have sound verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing scenarios.

You will conduct audits and inspections, together with risk assessments, recommending areas for improvement and helping to foster a culture of safety and best practice around environment and quality. You will also be involved in maintaining and improving procedures and processes and ensure these are implemented company wide. You’ll put together reports for senior leaders so your written and presentation skills will be strong and you’ll be competent using Microsoft Office 365.

You will have at least a couple of years’ experience in a SHEQ role working on construction sites, combined with a NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health & Safety, and preferably a NEBOSH or ISEP Environmental Qualification. In addition, it’s expected you’ll hold an IOSH membership, membership of NRSWA and a CSCS card.  Finally, you will have an understanding of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.

As you’re required to travel to sites in the North West, you will be based in either the Manchester or Leeds areas, hold a full and valid driving licence and be comfortable managing a number of projects at any one time and be computer literate.
So, if you possess the relevant skills and experience and you’re interested in finding out more, please contact Katie on katie@climate17.com.
