Senior Sustainability Consultant

With sustainability embedded at the heart of every project, our client is looking to appoint a Senior Sustainability Consultant to support the continued growth of its environmental assessment and sustainability advisory team.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to lead the delivery of sustainability assessments across a diverse portfolio of projects while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.

You'll manage client relationships, oversee project delivery, and provide expert advice across a range of sustainability certification schemes. Alongside technical delivery, you'll contribute to service development, improve internal processes, and play an important role in mentoring and developing junior consultants.

The position also offers opportunities to support wider sustainability services including Net Zero strategies, ESG advisory, planning support, and sustainable design workshops.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of environmental assessment projects across a range of sectors.
• Manage BREEAM, WELL and other sustainability certification projects from inception through to completion.
• Act as Lead Sustainability Consultant, coordinating sustainability advice across multidisciplinary design teams.
• Deliver sustainability strategies, planning advice, and client workshops where required.
• Review and continuously improve technical standards, templates, and quality assurance processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, project teams, and external stakeholders.
• Mentor, supervise, and support junior consultants, helping develop technical capability across the team.
• Contribute to business growth through bid preparation, fee proposals, and service development.
• Support the expansion of sustainability services across emerging industry standards and best practice.

About You

The successful candidate is likely to have:

• At least six years' experience delivering sustainability assessments within the built environment.
• Qualified BREEAM Assessor with experience across multiple building sectors.
• WELL Accredited Professional (WELL AP).
• Experience leading sustainability consultancy projects from concept through completion.
• Strong understanding of BREEAM, WELL, and other environmental assessment methodologies.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and providing client-facing sustainability advice.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior consultants.

• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
