Do you enjoy turning complex energy data into insights that influence policy, industry, and the future of Europe's power sector?

We're working with a highly respected international organisation at the forefront of Europe's energy transition, helping governments, policymakers and industry leaders make better decisions through robust research and data-led analysis.

They're now looking for a Senior Energy Markets Analyst to lead high-profile research projects focused on the evolution of European electricity systems.

Although one of the immediate priorities is electricity grids and network development, we're equally interested in hearing from analysts with broader experience across European power markets, renewable energy, flexibility, storage or electricity policy.

The Role

This is a genuinely varied position that combines technical analysis, policy engagement and public-facing thought leadership.

You'll be responsible for taking research projects from initial concept through to publication, influencing discussions across the European energy sector.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Analysing European electricity and energy market data
  • Building methodologies and analytical models
  • Producing high-impact reports and publications
  • Monitoring emerging market and policy developments
  • Engaging with policymakers and industry stakeholders
  • Presenting findings at conferences and industry events
  • Working with journalists and external organisations
  • Managing one junior analyst

Rather than simply producing analysis, you'll help shape conversations around Europe's energy transition.

Areas of Interest

Projects over the coming year are likely to cover:

  • Electricity grids
  • Grid expansion
  • Electricity markets
  • Power system flexibility
  • Energy storage
  • Interconnectors
  • Renewable generation
  • Power market reform

About You

We're interested in hearing from people who combine strong analytical capability with excellent communication skills.

You might currently work within:

  • Energy consultancy
  • Power markets
  • Energy trading
  • Renewable energy
  • Transmission or system operators
  • Energy policy
  • Government
  • Think tanks
  • Research organisations

You'll ideally have:

  • Strong knowledge of the European energy sector
  • Experience analysing complex energy datasets
  • The ability to turn technical information into compelling reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence presenting findings to senior stakeholders
  • Experience managing research projects independently

Experience with Python or other analytical tools would be beneficial but isn't essential.

Likewise, previous publication experience is welcomed but strong communicators from industry are equally encouraged to apply.

Polish language skills would be a significant advantage due to upcoming projects, although English is essential.
