About the Company

Climate17 is proud to partner with a growing renewable energy developer focused on utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects across the ERCOT market. With an entrepreneurial approach and an ambitious development pipeline, the company offers an opportunity to join a close-knit team where individual contributions make a tangible difference. This is an environment for someone who enjoys taking ownership, building relationships and finding solutions, with the autonomy to manage their work and the potential to share in the financial success of the projects they help bring forward.

Your Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an experienced land professional to take ownership of land positions across a growing portfolio of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects in Texas. Working closely with the development team, you'll manage established landowner relationships, oversee site control agreements and identify practical solutions to title, survey and due diligence issues. With the freedom to manage your own workload and drive issues through to resolution, you'll play a meaningful role in progressing projects within a close-knit, entrepreneurial team, with the opportunity to share in the financial success of projects as they are monetised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage land positions across the project portfolio, maintaining strong landowner relationships and overseeing leases, options, purchase agreements, amendments and associated contractual obligations.
  • Lead land and title due diligence, reviewing title commitments, deeds, ownership records and supporting documentation to identify risks, gaps in site control and potential impacts on project delivery.
  • Review ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, assess discrepancies and acreage issues, and develop practical solutions to resolve identified risks.
  • Identify and coordinate title curative requirements, including ownership discrepancies, easements, mineral interests and surface-use considerations.
  • Support the negotiation and administration of easements, rights-of-way, gen-tie agreements, crossing agreements and other land-related instruments.
  • Coordinate outside landmen, title companies, surveyors and other specialist resources, taking ownership of outstanding issues through to resolution.
  • Maintain accurate land records, monitor contractual deadlines and communicate land risks, outstanding actions and recommended solutions to the development team.

What You Bring

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience in land management, real estate, energy or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in landman, leasing, land management or related land operations roles, ideally within the Texas energy market.
  • A minimum of 2 years of utility-scale solar experience, with battery energy storage experience highly desirable.
  • Practical experience with land and title due diligence, including the ability to review ALTA/NSPS surveys, identify risks and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Strong knowledge of leases, options, title documentation, curative processes, easements and landowner agreements.
  • The confidence to manage multiple priorities independently, make sound decisions and drive issues through to resolution without close supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build genuine rapport with landowners, contractors and internal stakeholders.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: Circa $120,000, depending on experience.
  • Annual KPI bonus: Up to 25% of base salary.
  • Uncapped project monetisation bonus: Additional participation in a project-based bonus pool linked to projects the team helps advance and monetise. The structure is being finalised, with a percentage of revenue at project sale expected to be allocated to a pool shared across the team.
  • Healthcare: 100% company-paid medical, dental and vision insurance.
  • Retirement: 401(k) with up to 6% company match.

Why Join?

  • Autonomy and ownership: Manage your own workload, make decisions and take responsibility for progressing land issues without unnecessary layers of management.
  • A collaborative environment: Work closely with an approachable development team in an entrepreneurial business where relationships and practical problem-solving matter.
  • Visible impact: Play a direct role in advancing utility-scale solar and storage projects across Texas.
  • Share in the upside: In addition to the annual KPI bonus, benefit from an uncapped project monetisation bonus pool, with the structure currently being finalised.
