With heat networks playing a critical role in achieving net zero, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing specialist team delivering high-impact, future-facing heat network projects across the built environment, supporting clients through an evolving regulatory and technical landscape.

The Role: Heat Networks Engineer

Based in London, this is a hands-on, high-impact role supporting the delivery of best-in-class heat network solutions in line with evolving UK regulation, including the Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme (HNTAS).

You’ll work closely with the sector lead, contributing to project delivery, technical standards, and mentoring junior engineers - while helping shape the future of heat network design and performance in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Delivery

  • Lead or contribute to the design of new and existing heat networks, optimising performance and efficiency
  • Support refurbishment, replacement, and upgrade projects
  • Develop standard schematics, specifications, and calculation tools


Technical Assurance & Compliance

  • Undertake peer reviews and assess contractor designs
  • Monitor installations on-site and carry out witnessing & acceptance testing
  • Ensure compliance with HNTAS and wider UK regulations


Performance & Optimisation

  • Deliver post-occupancy performance monitoring strategies
  • Conduct optimisation and troubleshooting studies on existing networks
  • Identify improvements to efficiency, cost, and reliability


Client & Funding Support

  • Support clients with funding applications (e.g. government heat network schemes)
  • Provide high-quality technical advice and reporting


Team & Practice Development

  • Mentor and support graduate and junior engineers
  • Contribute to internal standards, tools, and knowledge sharing
  • Support the growth and strategic positioning of the heat networks discipline
