Climate17 is delighted to be partnering with a leading UK renewable energy developer to recruit a Finance Assistant.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their finance career who is looking to develop their skills within a growing business operating in one of the UK's fastest-growing sectors.

You'll join a collaborative finance team where you'll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting activities while receiving support to develop professionally, including funding towards recognised accountancy qualifications.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play an important role supporting the day-to-day finance function, with responsibilities including:

  • Managing multiple Accounts Payable ledgers
  • Processing supplier invoices and matching purchase orders
  • Preparing payment runs, including BACS and international payments
  • Managing supplier queries and maintaining supplier records
  • Processing employee expenses and company credit card reconciliations
  • Completing bank reconciliations
  • Assisting with month-end activities
  • Supporting continuous improvement across finance systems and processes

About You

We're looking for someone who is keen to build a long-term career in finance.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Accounts Payable position
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn
  • The confidence to work independently and ask questions where needed
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Further study in Business, Finance or a related subject would be advantageous.

Location

The role is based in Cheltenham with hybrid working available. To support learning and development, you'll typically spend around three to four days per week in the office during your initial training period. There may also be occasional travel to the London office.
