Climate17 is proud to partner with a growing renewable energy platform focused on the development of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. With an established pipeline and plans for continued growth, the business is expanding its development team to support projects through the full development lifecycle.
This is an opportunity to join a growing platform at an early stage, working closely with senior leadership and external consultants while having genuine ownership of your projects and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Your Opportunity
As Development Manager, you will take an active role in advancing utility-scale solar and BESS projects through development, working closely with the Head of Development and wider project team. You will coordinate key development workstreams, manage external consultants, track project schedules and budgets, and help identify and resolve issues as projects progress.
The ideal candidate understands the full development lifecycle and can take ownership of projects and workstreams with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of utility-scale solar and BESS projects from acquisition through RTB/NTP and transaction readiness
- Coordinate key project workstreams across land, environmental, permitting, engineering, surveying, title and interconnection
- Manage relationships with external consultants, ensuring scopes, schedules, budgets and deliverables remain on track
- Support development schedules, budgets, critical path management and project reporting
- Coordinate with utilities, counties, agencies, landowners and other project stakeholders
- Identify development risks and work with internal and external teams to develop practical mitigation strategies
- Support due diligence activities and preparation of project materials for financing or transaction processes
- Contribute to the development and improvement of project processes as the wider team grows
- Work closely with senior leadership to provide clear updates on project progress, risks and key decisions
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree required; relevant advanced degree or professional qualification preferred
- 5+ years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy development, land development, infrastructure or a closely related field
- Experience supporting or leading utility-scale solar and/or BESS projects through multiple stages of development
- ERCOT experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of development workstreams including land/title, environmental, permitting, engineering, surveying and interconnection
- Experience managing external consultants and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong organisational skills with experience managing project schedules, budgets and competing priorities
- Commercially minded approach with the ability to identify risks, evaluate options and make sound decisions
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
