Electrical Engineer

Climate17 is proud to partner with a growing renewable energy EPC and engineering business focused on the development, design, and delivery of community and utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the US. Our client is expanding their engineering team and is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support project design, interconnection, and technical execution across a growing renewable energy portfolio.

• Position: Electrical Engineer
• Location: Rochester, NY
• Travel: Minimal travel required

Your Opportunity:
This position will play a key role within the EPC team, supporting the design, analysis, and optimization of solar and battery storage projects from early-stage development through construction. The role will work closely with project managers, utilities, third-party engineers, and EPC teams to support interconnection, system design, permitting, and project execution across community and utility-scale renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the electrical design and engineering of solar PV and energy storage projects
• Prepare and review single-line diagrams, electrical drawings, and technical specifications
• Lead or support interconnection applications and utility coordination efforts
• Perform feasibility studies, system performance analysis, and design optimization
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, utilities, and third-party engineering consultants
• Support permitting, regulatory compliance, and technical documentation
• Assist with transmission planning, utility studies, and interconnection risk analysis
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning activities
  
  

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 5 years of electrical engineering experience within renewable energy projects
• Experience supporting community or utility-scale solar and/or battery storage projects
• Strong understanding of interconnection processes, utility coordination, and transmission studies
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, PVSyst, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of NEC standards, power flow analysis, and system modelling
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency strongly preferred
• Ability to work primarily onsite in Rochester, NY
