As an Attorney, you will serve as a key legal advisor supporting both project development and construction activities across a growing portfolio of renewable energy projects. This role requires strong expertise in EPC contract drafting and negotiation, alongside a commercial mindset and practical approach to risk management. Working closely with development, construction, finance, and executive teams, you will provide strategic legal guidance that enables projects to progress efficiently from origination through construction and operation.

- Position: Attorney
- Location: Charlotte, NC (remote considered)
As an Attorney, you will serve as a key legal advisor supporting both project development and construction activities across a growing portfolio of renewable energy projects. This role requires strong expertise in EPC contract drafting and negotiation, alongside a commercial mindset and practical approach to risk management. Working closely with development, construction, finance, and executive teams, you will provide strategic legal guidance that enables projects to progress efficiently from origination through construction and operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate EPC contracts, supply agreements, subcontracts, and construction-related documentation
- Advise development and construction teams on contractual obligations, risk allocation, and project execution matters
- Support procurement strategies, change order negotiations, delay claims, and performance guarantee discussions
- Review and negotiate project agreements including interconnection, land, and development-related contracts
- Provide guidance on clean energy tax incentives including ITC, PTC, domestic content, prevailing wage, apprenticeship, and FEOC requirements
- Collaborate with finance teams, external counsel, and commercial stakeholders on project transactions and regulatory matters
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the renewable energy sector and support continuous improvement of legal processes and contract templates
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school and active license to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5-7 years of legal experience within the renewable energy sector, with a strong focus on solar
- Demonstrated expertise drafting and negotiating EPC contracts for renewable energy projects
- Experience supporting both project development and construction activities from a legal perspective
- Strong understanding of U.S. federal clean energy tax incentives and related compliance requirements
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical business advice
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
- Spanish language skills are advantageous but not required
