Role Description:
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised, dynamic and driven leader to join a successful, fun and friendly team. You'll be leading and developing the industrial team who are responsible for delivering a range of carbon, energy and water consultancy services to corporate clients, with a focus on manufacturing and industrial, in particular the food and beverage sectors. This will include coordination of all operational elements from recruitment, to work delivery, encompassing a direct team of senior, consultant and graduate engineers
.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the industrial energy and carbon team.
- Responsible for the overall P&L of the team.
- Support the development and implementation of strategic objectives as a member of the leadership team.
- Oversee organisation of resources including scheduling the pipeline of work, managing resource availability, utilisation and delegation of work.
- Responsible for team development and performance management including recruitment, personal development, performance reviews, provision of training and supporting professional development.
- Provide management and technical oversight to ensure work is delivered to an expected quality, on time and within agreed budgets.
- Commercially aware and comfortable seeking new opportunities, presenting and closing business within the existing client base.
- Provide input to and support to the sales and marketing team on new business development activities.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering or a relevant post graduate qualification.
- Ideally a Chartered Engineer, MBA or equivalent business-related qualification.
Experience:
- At least 10 years engineering or energy and carbon reduction experience in the industrial sector.
- Experience in delivering heat decarbonisation strategies.
- Experience of growing, developing and managing a professional team.
- Experience in consultancy.
- Experience of managing complex or multi-client projects, including developing project briefs, cost proposals and report QA.
- Generating sales through key account management and new business development.
- Commercial experience in contract preparation and negotiation.
Knowledge and Other Skills:
- Knowledge of industrial systems, energy use and optimisation including; boilers, steam, heat networks, hot water systems, refrigeration, HVAC, Scada / BMS, CHP, heat pumps, and other renewable energy technology.
- Knowledge of energy and carbon management policy, legislation and market trajectory.
- Knowledge of metering, measurement and verification.
- UK Driving Licence - a moderate of UK travel will be required.
- Will require UK DBS clearance.
