Ecological Field Manager (Major Projects)

They have established an excellent reputation for providing client-focused, cost-effective advice and expertise on all ecological and arboricultural issues that occur during the planning and development process.

Role

As a key member of our client's Ecology Team, you will be expected to act as field lead on their larger major projects such as road, rail and overhead power schemes. Often leading a team working on complex schemes with multiple protected species, you will be the link between client, the field and the office support team. The Field Manager will oversee the implementation of mitigation works. You will undertake a wide variety of field surveys and ensure that advice and recommendations resulting from these surveys are communicated effectively to clients through written reports and verbal communication.

Requirements

  • A background in either field-based ecology or environmental landscaping
  • Confident leading surveys and providing advice with a positive work ethic and a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Good interpersonal skills with clients and colleagues
  • Good report writing skills and experience of working on complex projects with multiple protected species
  • Competency in Microsoft Office packages including Excel and Word and mapping software experience would be desirable
